1/3 of heat is lost through the walls in an under-insulated home.

Installing cavity wall insulation is a simple and effective way to reduce heat loss and your residents’ heating bills; improving their quality of life and increasing their satisfaction with your service.

Cavity wall insulation is installed by injecting small bead material into the cavity from the outside. Holes are drilled in the outside walls, insulation is injected through the holes and the hole is then sealed with cement.

The insulation then provides an additional layer within the walls of your home to reduce the amount of warm air that escapes.

We usually use Thermabead as our insulation material which is made up of small beads usually between 0.5-1.3mm in diameter.

How we will work with you

At ECO Matters we specialise in working with blocks of flats and apartments to manage the whole process of installing cavity wall insulation. This starts with a short survey before the installation as well as all of the paperwork being completed on your behalf.

Step One: Survey

Portrait Of Surveyor In Hard Hat And High Visibility Jacket With Digital Tablet Carrying Out House InspectionWe will contact your residents to book a short survey (around 30 minutes) at a time that suits them. It will be carried out by one of our friendly staff members; usually Pete or Olly.

During the survey, we drill a small hole through the mortar between the bricks from the outside of the building.  A borescope (a camera on a flexible wire) is used to see between the external and internal walls to access what insulation (if any) is currently in place.

Your resident will be asked to sign two forms:

A consent form that gives us permission to run a DWP check (this is the quickest and simplest way for us to ensure that the resident is eligible for the ECO scheme).

A consent form that gives us permission to contact the local council to check the resident’s eligibility in case the DWP check doesn’t provide a clear or positive outcome.

Step Two: Installation

We will contact your resident to book the installation at a time that suits them. It will be carried out by one of our fully vetted and trusted contractors.

During the installation as hole is drilled in the outside wall and insulation beads are injected between the walls. Once complete the hole is then filled with cement.

Onsite, the whole process is documented with photographs- the photos will be used in the grant application process.

Step Three: Technical Monitoring

Our Install Manager, Olly, will book in a convenient time to check the work has been completed to our high standards and that you are happy with the work that has been carried out.

We will handle all the paperwork involved in applying for the necessary grants and will handle the install from start to finish with as much or as little contact with yourself as you would prefer.
